AC Milan and PUMA Unveil 125th Anniversary Kit
The celebratory capsule collection includes the Authentic Player Jersey, Goalkeeper Jersey, a special-edition Retro Style Jersey and more.
AC Milan and PUMA on Thursday unveiled the Italian football club’s 125th anniversary kit, a celebratory lineup of gear that celebrates Rossoneri heritage that was voted on by loyal AC Milan fans through an immersive competition.
The honorary capsule collection includes the Authentic Player Jersey, Goalkeeper Jersey, Retro Football and a special-edition Retro Style Jersey. Notably, there will only be 1,899 units of the vintage-inspired jersey, nodding to the club’s founding year, and it will also be available in a long-sleeve version that does not contain any sponsor logos (aside from PUMA’s patch).
Through the “Design Our Jersey, Design Our Legacy” campaign, AC Milan’s supporters were able to make design choices that nod to the club’s history. Among them, the broad stripe design, which first appeared on the Rossoneri jersey in the 1950s, is a timeless motif synonymous with the team’s biggest moments, and the badge pays homage to AC Milan’s first emblem as the Milan Football & Cricket Club in its founding year.
“This jersey is a reflection of AC Milan’s soul – its passion, its history, and the vision for its future,” said Franco Baresi, AC Milan’s honorary vice president. “As someone who has proudly represented this Club for 50 years in many different roles, this milestone represents a moment of celebration and unity for the entire Rossonary family.”
AC Milan’s new kit will make its on-pitch debut on December 8, when the women’s first team will play in the Derby against rival teams. The men’s first team will then sport the fresh designs on December 15, in a game against Genoa at the San Siro. Both teams will sport jerseys that only feature numbers, paying tribute to vintage styles.
“The 125th Anniversary is a testament to the values and spirit that make AC Milan extraordinary, and this kit is a beautiful way to honor our journey while celebrating the unwavering bond with our fans,” Baresi added.
