SKIMS Takes the Slopes With Solutions-Oriented The North Face Collaboration
Marking the Kim Kardashian-led brand’s first foray into winter wear.
Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS is breaking into winterwear with one of its most technical collections to-date: a Brr!-defying collaboration with The North Face, in which the solutions-oriented label has redesigned the legacy outerwear brand’s archival styles in its signature form-flattering fits and tonal colorways.
“This [collaboration] marks SKIMS first-ever foray into the world of winter wear and partnering with The North Face allowed us to leverage their expertise in this category,” said Kardashian. “The collection is a combination of functional and flattering apparel solutions for the season. I’ve spent a lot of time on the slopes, so I was definitely inspired when we were developing this collection and I can’t wait to wear these pieces on my next trip.”

The limited-edition lineup pairs SKIMS’ signature body-sculpting and compressive base layers with The North Face’s performance-oriented outerwear. The collection includes a down jacket, fleece jacket, down one-piece, a shell waterproof pant, an adaptive bodysuit, a DotKnit top and bottom, and accessories like beanies, gloves and insulated mules.
“At The North Face, we always put innovation and functionality first, the collaboration space is no exception,” said David Whetstone, The North Face’s director of collaborations and energy. “With Skims, we maintained best in class constructions and materials and this collaboration came about from a mutual admiration.”
Shot by Vanessa Beecroft, the collaboration’s campaign pictures the joint collection on an ensemble cast descending the slopes of snow-capped mountains in Chile. A second campaign, shot by Donna Trope, which has not yet been released, will see Kardashian herself sporting the line’s hero pieces.
The North Face x SKIMS collection will become available to shop online and in both brands’ retail locations beginning December 10. Sizes will run from XXS to 3X, while prices will range from $60 USD to $1,200 USD. Take a look at the lineup in the gallery above.
