Established in 1834, Au Départ is the oldest French luxury maison, renowned for bespoke trunks and leather goods. The brand is often pushing the envelope when it comes to creating new pieces — and its latest Tote N. 55 x FRGMT collaboration, made with Fragment Design, encapsulates this more than ever.
Coming together for an exclusive collaboration, the link-up — led by Hiroshi Fujiwarasees — sees both brands express their shared respect for “sophisticated functionality and style,” as the new bag combines traditional and modern contemporary notes.
Meanwhile, the design leans into inspirations taken from motorsport culture — more specifically, the “golden era” of sports car racing, where a white circle of the car improved visibility. Additionally, the collaborators have ensured that both of their core DNAs are present in the design, with Au Départ’s fundamental pattern — the L’Hexagone — sitting alongside customary branding from FRGMT.
Take a closer look at the new Au Départ Tote No. 55 x Fragment above and it will be available to purchase at the official launch in Tokyo on December 14, while availability in Paris, London, Seoul, and on audepart.com will start in January.
