‘Star Wars’ Is Reportedly Getting a New Film Trilogy
The movies will reportedly be written and produced by Simon Kinberg.
A new Star Wars trilogy is being developed at Lucasfilm, Variety reported. The three films will reportedly be written and produced by Simon Kinberg, who is best known for producing several movies in the X-Men franchise.
The trilogy was said to serve as Episodes 10, 11 and 12 – set after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – but a report from Deadline detailed that insiders disputed that notion, suggesting that the trilogy will be a standalone film series.
Alongside Kinberg, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will be producing the trilogy, according to Variety.
Star Wars already has two projects slated to release in 2026 and 2027, though the titles of those have yet to be revealed.
