Our Legacy Rebuilds Deconstructed Garments in A.1 WORK SHOP CRAFT Capsule
Each pre-existing garment was remade by hand in Our Legacy’s Work Shop Atelier in Stockholm.
Our Legacy WORK SHOP, the Swedish contemporary brand’s special studio has released a new collection titled A.1 WORK SHOP CRAFT, made of existing Our Legacy garments reimagined as new pieces.
The studio took time to hand-pick each garment from its archives, exploring different modes of renewal for the individual styles. Each piece has a unique lived-in character due to its respective reconstruction, along with updated processing with overdyes, experimental washes, and handcrafted details and embellishments. Though each piece is one-of-one the collection offers an extensive range of products across women’s, men’s, accessories, and even footwear.
Overdyed pieces like the Aero Jacket in Italian canvas and Cropped Biker Trench in French Corduroy will develop distinct patinas over time with regular use. Elsewhere the Reversed Borrowed Shirt boasts a patchwork of Our Legacy’s Antique Wallpaper Print reconstructed in reverse with mother-of-pearl buttons, mitered cuffs, and a curved hem. The collection does not shy away from color, as demonstrated in the Work Shop Vest, which features a hand-knitted puzzle pattern completed at the atelier and accompanied by an intarsia Yin Yang logo.
Standing out in footwear is the Camion Mule in Brown Portuguese Leather, hand painted and distressed at the Stockholm atelier, while in accessories, Our Legacy gets creative with raw-edge denim leg gaiters and chaps made from vintage Our Legacy trousers.
