After being teased earlier this year, evian has launched two new limited-edition bottles from its three-way partnership with Pharrell Williams and his skincare brand Humanrace. Arriving in blue and green – one still and one sparkling, bien sûr – the bottle design is intentionally simple and each one has been adorned with nothing more than the collaborators’ respective logos and ‘This is the Fountain of Youth’, an inscription that speaks to their shared belief that “true wellbeing starts with water.”

While evian has launched multiple luxury designer collaborations over the past 15 years, the evian x Humanrace by Pharrell Williams partnership marks a first for the French brand: it has never produced both iterations of its water in glass form before now, making the limited-edition duo all the more special.

Born of a shared appreciation for the healing power of water, the evian x Humanrace by Pharrell Williams collaboration was brought to life in a stills campaign shot by photographer and filmmaker Laura Jane Coulson, featuring a diverse cast that “celebrates inclusivity and being well,” as well as an accompanying campaign film set to Pharrell’s own song, “Joy”, by British director Henry Scholfield.

Pharrell Williams is a creative polymath. In between his role at the helm of menswear for Louis Vuitton, he is still making new music, collaborating with LEGO on toys and movies, and running his own cosmetics company. Skateboard P’s talents seemingly know no bounds, and as time has passed he has continued to evolve creatively. But, at 51 and as a father of four, it begs the question: Just what is in the water?

Last week, evian and Pharrell Williams launched their new collaboration at an intimate dinner hosted by Williams in Los Angeles. With a menu curated by chefs Jah Landis and Jessica Koslow, guests included VETEMENTS’ creative director Guram Gvasalia, Aleali May and Alton Mason, Gunna, artist Kohshin Finley, dancer Stephen Galloway, and Dr Elena Jones, Pharrell’s dermatologist of 20 years and the brains behind Humanrace’s cosmetics.

Hypebeast was also in attendance and we caught up with Pharrell to talk about his journey, what he’s learned from failure, and the collaboration with evian. Check out our conversation with Pharrell below, and look out for the evian x Humanrace by Pharrell Williams “Fountain of Youth” bottles arriving at select retailers worldwide this month.

When’s the last time you slept-in?!

I just slept on the way here!

What inspired the “Fountain of Youth” concept?

The inspiration behind the “Fountain of Youth” concept came from a shared belief between Humanrace and evian that true well-being starts with water. We wanted to re-imagine this age-old idea through a modern lens. The limited-edition bottles we designed, inscribed with ‘This is the Fountain of Youth’, are meant to spark conversations and remind everyone of the essential role water plays in our lives.

Can you tell how the partnership with evian came about and what the journey has looked like?

The partnership with evian came about because we both share a deep belief in the importance of well-being and the fundamental role that water plays in our lives. At Humanrace, we emphasize that true wellness starts with hydration, and evian has always embodied that spirit with their water. When we started this journey, it was about more than just creating a product. We wanted to inspire people to embrace self-care in a joyful way.

We know you love space and they’ve found evidence of water on other planets. Do you think there’s life out there somewhere, in some form?

[Pauses] Definitely… [Laughs]

What’s the greatest thing you’ve accomplished?

I’d say the journey itself – learning, growing, and evolving. From music to fashion to partnerships like this one with evian, it’s all been an incredible experience. But being able to use my platform to inspire others toward wellness, creativity, and positivity might be the thing I’m most proud of. I never feel like I’ve truly done it all. I’m a perpetual student, and there’s so much more to learn.

How important has failure been in your journey?

Failure has been everything. It’s a teacher, a reset, and a reminder to stay humble. Every time things don’t go as planned, it pushes me to see things differently and grow. To me, wellness is about balance, and failure is a huge part of finding that balance.

Can you tell us about a time you failed and what it taught you?

Early in my career, I put everything into a project, but it didn’t connect the way I’d hoped. That experience taught me to let go of control and to really listen. Every setback since then has kept me open to learning and focused on creating deeper connections with people.

You come from humble beginnings. How do you keep yourself and your loved ones grounded?

Gratitude. Gratitude.

Can you tell us something about you that people might not know?

Nature is my recharge. It clears my mind and keeps me grounded. That’s why I’m excited about this evian collab – water is pure, simple, and essential, like wellness itself.
