Pharrell Williams‘ visionary footwear partnership with adidas is taking a distinctly utilitarian turn. Following up on the highly experimental and bulky Jellyfish silhouette, the multi-hyphenate designer is stripping things back for a lighter, more functional approach. Officially dubbed the Virginia Water Moc, the brand-new silhouette is set to make its debut this fall in a striking “Lucid Ray Blue” colorway, seamlessly blending futuristic outdoor tech with premium lifestyle comfort.

Eagle-eyed sneaker enthusiasts might actually recognize this model from a series of cryptic teasers Pharrell posted earlier this year, which showcased several unreleased adidas designs from the bottom up. Now fully revealed, the Virginia Water Moc proves to be a masterclass in mixed materials. The shoe’s upper is anchored by a sleek silver leather top section, while hits of rich blue nubuck and rugged brown mesh are utilized throughout the base to create depth and texture.

Leaning heavily into a gorpcore aesthetic, the shoe is equipped with a covered closure system. This design choice gives the Water Moc a highly technical, protective look, making it feel more like an advanced outdoor exploration shoe than a traditional casual lifestyle sneaker.

Underfoot, the sole continues to utilize the sculpted, fluid design language that has defined Pharrell’s recent creative direction with the Three Stripes. However, it is significantly less bulky than its Jellyfish predecessor. This slimmer, dialed-back shape gives the Water Moc a much more wearable, everyday profile while remaining entirely distinct from traditional moccasin-style footwear.

As Pharrell continues to explore new lanes within the adidas archive, this model offers a perfect middle ground for fans who want his signature futuristic flair in a more wearable package. The Pharrell Williams x adidas Water Moc “Lucid Ray Blue” is currently expected to launch on September 15, 2026. Pairs will be available via adidas CONFIRMED and select global retailers for an accessible price tag of $140 USD.
