Biver's “Echoes of This Moment” Automatique Captures the Essence of Time and Memory
Created in collaboration with Swiss artist Guillaume Ehinger for TimeForArt 2024.
Following Ressence and Toledano & Chan revealing their TimeForArt-exclusive timepieces, Biver has also unveiled a striking piece unique for the upcoming auction. Titled “Echoes of This Moment,” the timepiece takes on the base of Biver’s Automatique model.
What truly steals the show on this reference is its 18k white gold dial, which features an enchanting, multi-layered enamel that’s been created in collaboration with Swiss artist, Guillaume Ehinger. The handmade dial showcases a distinctive rippling effect, flickering between varying hues of red, pink and gray. “I think a lot about scale in my work,” says Ehinger as he highlights that “a great image can be read from far away and is pleasing to look at, but as you get closer it reveals more and shows you more detail.”
Coming in a 39mm case size, the model is iterated in stainless steel as opposed to any other precious metals such as platinum or rose gold, which is what the Automatique usually comes in.
On the flip side, the timepiece is equally as mesmerizing with an open caseback that provides a clear view of the JCB-003 caliber inside. While most of the decorations remain synonymous with the usual Automatique models, the 22k gold micro-rotor is now inscribed with ”Echoes of this Moment,” along with Ehinger’s signature.
Biver’s “Echoes of This Moment” Automatique timepiece will head to auction this December at the dedicated TimeForArt sale held as a part of The Phillips New York Watch Auction: XI. For more details, visit TimeForArt’s official website.
