Piaget Launches First Wristwatch Under the Andy Warhol Name
Also offered in made-to-order service.
Piaget has revealed the Andy Warhol Clou de Paris watch, the closing chapter to its 150th anniversary year-wide celebrations. While the renowned contemporary artist has always had ties with Piaget, this new release marks the first of the Maison’s offerings to officially launch under the Andy Warhol name — thanks to an official collaboration under license with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Arriving in a 45mm cushion-shaped case, the new time-teller reimagines one of Warhol’s most iconic timepieces from the Maison – The Black Tie. Now spotlighting a one-of-a-kind blue meteorite dial with a glimmering Clou de Paris case finish that took the Maison’s Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire 10 months to perfect. The precious material for the dial not only complements its white gold case perfectly but is also a nod to Piaget’s rich jeweling history.
Michael Dayton Hermann, the Director of Licensing, Marketing, and Sales at The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts expressed his delight in this collaboration with Piaget, noting how it not only celebrates “the bond between Warhol and Piaget through an eponymous watch with an ethos as timeless, iconic, and singular as its namesake.”
The Andy Warhol Clou de Paris watch is equipped with the 501P1 Manufacture movement, complete with a dark blue alligator strap. A made-to-order service for this model is also available at Piaget, where clients can create a timepiece that resonates with them from a selection of 10 different ornamental stone dials, leather straps, hands and case material.
