Ressence Enlists Shantell Martin for a One-Of-A-Kind Type 1 Squared Watch
To be presented at the upcoming TimeForArt 2024 auction.
For the upcoming biennial TimeForArt auction, Ressence has tapped British visual artist, Shantell Martin to co-create a unique timepiece.
Using the the dial of a TYPE 1 Squared as a canvas, Martin transforms the white watch face into a unique piece of art. As shown in the video below, the design is directly hand-drawn onto the piece using a black fine liner.
Powered by the watch brand’s patented ROCS 1.3 – Ressence’s Orbital Convex System – this unique timepiece follows the usual specs of the TYPE 1 Squared.
“We don’t see the final result as just a watch, but rather as a piece of art on your wrist. It’s a unique interaction between visual storytelling and mechanical ingenuity, where the simple act of telling time becomes an artistic expression,” says Ressence’s CEO, Benoît Mintiens.
