Nintendo’s Mystery Switch Online Playtest Fills Up in Seconds
Many are speculating the test pertains to the Switch 2.
Nintendo announced earlier this week that it would be hosting a playtest related to a new feature for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Online. The test was open to the public to sign up and had 10,000 available slots.
“We will perform a test called Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program related to a new feature for the Nintendo Switch Online service offered for the Nintendo Switch system,” the company said.
We will be performing a test related to a new feature for #NintendoSwitchOnline on #NintendoSwitch. Starting 8:00 AM PT on Oct. 10, existing Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will be able to apply to participate on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The only criteria to partake in the test were that users had to be at least 18 years old, have a Nintendo account and be subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
Participation was on a first-come, first-serve basis. Within less than a minute, however, the playtest was capped out.
Nintendo also required those who made the cut to sign an NDA and asked that they refrain from discussing the test. Many are already speculating that the feature pertains to the long-awaited Switch 2.
