CLOT and adidas Open Pop-Up CLOT CAFE in Shanghai, China
Taking inspiration from Hong Kong’s Cha Chaan Teng culture.
Edison Chen‘s CLOT has announced its upcoming CLOT CAFE pop-up with adidas.
Taking place in Shanghai, the pop-up takes inspiration from Hong Kong’s Cha Chaan Teng culture and is even set to serve up some of the most classic dishes from the city. Attendees will be able to try typical rice noodles, satay beef, french toast and the popular pineapple bun at the pop-up, all while using special branded CLOT tableware. The pop-up is set to launch the collaborative adidas Superstar on October 12. The shoes takes on a tan and brown colorway, a nod to the Hong Kong style milk tea. Other commemorative apparel pieces are also slated to arrive at the pop-up and across JUICE STORE locations.
Taking to Instagram, CLOT shares, “In celebration of the CLOT Superstar by Edison Chen “Milk Tea,” CLOT and @adidasoriginals are launching a CLOT 凝結冰室 cafe pop-up in Shanghai, showcasing vintage design elements inspired by Hong Kong’s iconic Cha Chaan Teng culture.” It continued, “Immerse yourself in the nostalgic ambiance, featuring classic retro tiles and neon signs and explore limited-edition merchandise that reflects the charm of Cha Chaan Teng, alongside the @juicestore exclusive pre-launch of the new CLOT Superstar ‘, designed with a nod to traditional craftsmanship. The pop-up will feature a limited-time menu with five special sets, including some of the most popular Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng dishes complemented with a cup of richly flavored iced or hot milk tea – presented in CLOT 凝結冰室 limited-edition tableware.”
The design of the pop-up closely draws from the ’80s Hong Kong café style, bringing vintage tiling to pair with the deep green tone that is known across the city. The Shanghai pop-up will see the launch of the CLOT x adidas Superstar which is a greater China exclusive. A pre-launch begins on October 12, the first day the pop-up opens, till supplies last. The pop-up ends on October 31.
