Update: Word of the Nike Air Flightposite “Metallic Gold” returning this year hit the net back in February, prompting excitement from around the industry. Now, it’s nearly time for the sneaker to drop as Nike has presented its official imagery of the pair. Staying true to its original form, this year’s “Metallic Gold” colorway sports a shimmering gold upper that is joined by black and silver detailing. Release is set for October 30 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $240 USD.
Original Story: Originally making its debut in 1999 and last released in 2008, the Nike Air Flightposite in “Metallic Gold” is making its way back to retail a little under two decades later. Making a comeback for this fall season, this Eric Avar-crafted shoe which was once sported by NBA icons like Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan, is set to arrive later this month. The shoe features a special groundbreaking composite material that is inspired by the human anatomy. The 2024 release is expected to feature the classic black neoprene upper that is complemented by the metallic gold foamposite shell. The shoe’s concealed lacing system is accessible through a full-length zipper. Swoosh branding hits the back heel tabs and tongues to accompany the metallic silver carbon fiber plate that sits atop the black rubber outsole for this year’s revival. Look out for the shoe dropping at the end of the month.
