Lewis Hamilton’s IWC Schaffhausen Sells for $254K at Auction
Worn by the driver on the podium of the 2024 Silverstone Grand Prix.
An IWC Schaffhausen watch worn by Lewis Hamilton has sold for $254,000 USD (₣220,000 CHF) at auction. Held in Zurich, the event was organized by Bonhams to benefit Laureus, a non-profit that organizes sports programs for social good.
The selling price of the watch was seven times that of what analysts had estimated following a spirited bidding round. Hamilton had worn the timepiece on the podium of the 2024 Silverstone Grand Prix while accepting the trophy for his record-breaking ninth F1 win.
The specific, personalized model was called the IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. The watch was auctioned alongside a pair of Hamilton’s signed racing gloves, which he wore during the race.
