Jacquemus Opens First US Store in New York
The SoHo location is being called “The New York Boutique.”
Jacquemus has opened the doors to “The New York Boutique,” the brand’s first store in the US. Located in Manhattan’s SoHo, construction on the store began in November 2023 and was carried out by architecture firm OMA in collaboration with Simon Porte Jacquemus.
The designer sought to bring Parisian and Provincial influences to the store, inspired by the neighborhood’s history of artistic vibrancy. Situated within a brick 19th-century townhouse, the space spans 2,906 square feet (270 square meters) across two floors.
OMA focused on curating the interior to be both minimalistic and warm, using light wood and white stucco. The floor tiling is inspired by French castle pavements, while an Italian iron artisan was commissioned to craft the clothing racks and staircase railings. Banana yellow curtains provide a pop of color.
Furniture was also carefully sourced, with pieces from Frank Lloyd Wright, Jean Dunand and Bertrand Lacroix on display, as well as art by Aristide Maillol, Joan Miró, Pierre Bonnard, Peter Schlesinger and Wolfgang Tillmans.
