G-SHOCK Presents the “Juryoku-Maru: San” MRG-B2000JS-1A Limited Edition
Based on a katana sword that was specially commissioned by Casio.
Continuing to expand on its arsenal of samurai-inspired time-tellers, G-SHOCK has revealed a new limited edition MRG-B2000 model. In the same vein as last year’s “Shougeki-Maru: Gai” watch, the freshly unveiled MRG-B2000JS-1A fuses traditional artisanal elements that pay homage to the spirit of the master swordsmith.
The inspiration for the piece comes directly from a “Juryoku-Maru: San,” an original katana that was specially commissioned by Casio. The sword was forged by leading Japanese master swordsmith, Teruhira Kamiyama, who also hand-etched the sword’s name in kanji on the watch’s caseback.
Outfitted with a recrystallized hybrid titanium bezel that echoes the striking beauty of the blade, the timepiece also features a distinct pattern on its titanium alloy bracelet. This design references Mamoru Nomura’s Aogai blue shell lacquer-work, a resplendent finish that adorns the original katana’s scabbard.
Limited to 800 examples, the MRG-B2000JS-1A “Juryoku-Maru: San” will be available for order through G-SHOCK in November, retailing at $8,000 USD.
