BMW's Skytop Concept to Get Limited Production Run
With only 50 units planned to be produced.
BMW has announced that its elegant roadster concept, the Skytop, will go into a limited production run of just 50 units. Originally unveiled as a design study at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2024, the BMW Skytop received such a positive response that the automaker decided to bring the two-seater to life for a select group of collectors and enthusiasts.
Revealed by Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design, at an event in Milan, the production decision highlights BMW’s commitment to creating exclusive, small-series models.
The BMW Skytop features a powerful 4.4L V8 engine delivering 625 hp, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The car’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system ensures optimal traction, enabling a 0 to 60 mph sprint in approximately 3.3 seconds. Its dynamic design, inspired by BMW’s iconic Z8 roadster, includes sharp lines and a pronounced shark-nose front.
Notably, the Skytop boasts an exterior highlighted by an aluminum spline extending from the bonnet to the rear, light alloy wheels with intricate fins and custom-developed LED headlights. Inside, the roadster’s cabin features luxurious leather seats, brogue-style decorations and a premium Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.
At the time of writing, all 50 units of the Skytop have already been claimed, reflecting the automaker’s latest roadster.
