Young Thug's RICO Trial Resumes After YSL Co-Defendant Stabbed in Jail
YSL defendant Shannon Stillwell was stabbed by a fellow inmate in December.
Young Thug’s RICO trial is underway once again following a delay. On December 10, Young Slime Life co-defendant Shannon Stillwell was stabbed “multiple times” by a fellow inmate at the Fulton County Jail.
While Stillwell is in “stable condition” according to the county sheriff, the event led to Ural Glanville dismissing the court a few days early ahead of the planned holiday break.
“While I am not at liberty to discuss Shannon’s current location, I am able to confirm that he is recovering and getting stronger every day,” Stillwell’s attorney Max Schardt told Atlanta News First in a statement. “Shannon appreciates the well wishes of so many. We look forward to being back in court when the trial resumes on Jan. 2.”
The cause of the fight was unknown and Stillwell was housed separately from his co-defendants following the altercation. He returned to court alongside Young Thug on Tuesday.
Alongside the rapper and Stillwell, four other co-defendants are being tried on RICO charges. The trial has already panned out to be a lengthy one for Young Thug, having officially kicked off a year ago following an indictment in May 2022.
