Check Out the 'SpongeBob SquarePants' x Crocs Classic Clog "Patrick Star"
An homage to the beloved pink starfish.
The slip-on specialists over at Crocs are heading into 2024 with plenty of momentum. At the start of the year, the Hypebeast team sat down to unpack how the brand effectively redefined its image, with collaborations playing a key role. Naturally, its Classic Clog silhouette continues to serve up exciting new themes, including this week’s reveal of a collaboration with the Naruto franchise. Now, the brand is looking to another animated series for inspiration — tapping SpongeBob SquarePants for a Patrick Star-themed rendition of the Classic Clog.
For this look based on the fan-favorite starfish, pink enlivens the clog with Patrick’s lime green and lavender-covered shorts nodded to at the midsole. In typical Crocs fashion, its hole-covered toe hosts various thematic Jibbitz, ranging from a sleeping Patrick to his rock house. Looking to the strap, it features his face at the lateral while his “Is mayonnaise an instrument?” line is paid homage to across the left and right clogs.
At the time of writing, neither the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise nor Crocs have officially announced their forthcoming “Patrick Star”-themed collaboration on the Classic Clog. Stay tuned for updates as it’s likely to release in the coming weeks via Crocs and select retailers at a currently-unknown price point.
