Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant brewed up plenty of excitement for his debut signature shoe with Nike at the end of 2022, with the shoe not properly releasing until several months later. Since then, his on-court availability has been limited due to suspensions and a season-ending shoulder surgery that occurred this year. In the meantime, Nike Basketball has made the most of the momentum he built with the Ja 1 as it continues to receive new looks.

The latest theme to touch down on the Ja 1 draws from the animal his team’s nickname is based on — the grizzly bear. Its “Red Stardust” upper carries black Swooshes that meet at the heel while a portion of the heel has been torn out, as if a grizzly bear took a bite out of it. Adding to the special presentation, a jaw graphic is featured at both the tongue and sockliner. The midsole features a significant amount of gray with black specks to complete this pair.

At the time of writing, the Nike Basketball team has yet to reveal its release plans for this grizzly bear-inspired take on the Ja 1. Stay tuned for updates as it’s currently expected to release in the coming months via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $110 USD.
