LeBron James is more than confident with his son Bronny‘s basketball playing capabilities. Bronny, who is now a freshman at USC, has been given the thumbs up by his NBA veteran father that he could suit up for the Los Angeles Lakers immediately.

LeBron’s comments come after the Lakers lost their fourth straight game on Friday, losing 127-133 to the Memphis Grizzlies. This marks their 10th straight loss in the last 13 games, an evident downward trajectory for LeBron and the Lakers. In the post-game interview, LeBron said, “I’m not thinking that far back in the past. It was just two games. We suck right now.”

The Guardian‘s NBA writer Claire De Lune reported that LeBron was clearly not happy with the way his team was playing stating that 18-year-old son Bronny could be playing for the Lakers now, “He could play for us right now. Easy. EASY.” Bronny recently made his collegiate debut at USC after missing more than four months after suffering cardiac arrest in July. USC coach Andy Enfield said on record, “He’s a freshman, [and] this was his sixth game. He’s developing as a player and it’s nice to see and nice to watch. He’s a typical freshman but he had a little disadvantage over most freshmen where he was out for five months and had to come back in midseason. It’s very hard to do.” In the six games he played, Bronny has averaged 7.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Meanwhile, his father LeBron averages 25.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game in his 21st season and at age 39 years old.
