Rolex Pays Homage to the Vienna Philharmonic With a Limited-Edition Day-Date
In celebrating their 15th anniversary.

Rolex isn’t a watch brand that releases new timepieces very often, let alone special editions. However, in celebration of its quindecennial anniversary with the Vienna Philharmonic, Rolex has quietly unveiled its first time-telling offering of the year — an atypical 36mm Day-Date reference that is dedicated to the world-class orchestra.
Since 2009, Rolex has been the exclusive sponsor for the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s concert, which usually takes place at the esteemed Golden Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein every January. The new Day-Date showcases an exquisite, hand-finished champlevé grand feu enamel dial, which depicts different sections of a violin in a style that’s reminiscent of mid-century modern art. Colored in three different shades of green, the dial harmoniously complements its lustrous 18-carat yellow-gold case, bracelet and dial embellishments.
This special edition Day-Date was sported on the wrists of a handful of musicians during the latest Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s concert. It’s also confirmed to be only available in extremely limited qualities for select clientele.
