Just two years after its opening, Virgil Abloh‘s Freedom Skatepark in Ghana is now facing closure. The haven for Ghanian skaters from the mind of the late fashion designer has now been forced to close due to issues with contractors.

Taking to Instagram, designer Wole Olosunde shared that during a visit to Ghana he discovered the Freedom Skatepark has been closed with a cement wall erected to keep skaters out. The skatepark has reportedly been closed for almost a year and that not much has been done since issues first came up last year.

Olosunde ended his post by asking why no one has done anything to keep this part of Virgil Abloh’s vision alive despite all the efforts to pay respects to him.
