With CES 2024 right around the corner, Clicks Technology – startup founded by Kevin Michaluk (a.k.a. CrackBerry Kevin) and Michael Fisher (a.k.a. MrMobile) – has unveiled its nostalgic offering dubbed the Clicks Keyboard; resembling the bottom of a BlackBerry silhouette, the keyboard accessory is enclosed within a unibody silicon case and slides right onto the user’s iPhone – by way of lightning port or USB-C, depending on the model – to provide a fully-functional QWERTY keyboard. As its physical premiere approaches at next week’s CES, Clicks offered up a first look at the gadget.

Landing in Bumblebee yellow and London Sky gray colorways, the Clicks Keyboard allows users to “maximize [their] screen space.” Acting as a plug-and-play smart case, no Bluetooth connection is required. Powered by your iPhone, the lightweight Keyboard has no battery of its own and adds no significant additional weight to your phone. To charge your phone, simply plug it in via the pass-through port on the bottom – no case-removal required. A backlight feature is also included.

The Clicks accessory also supports IOS shortcuts and voice-to-text. Users can press “CMD + H” to hit the home screen or “CMD + Space” to open Search among a “whole list” of other functions.

Starting at $139 USD for the iPhone 14 size, the Clicks offering is the first-ever iPhone creator keyboard. “We’re not just replicating what’s gone before. This is a keyboard made for the iPhone,” Fischer explains in the below video announcing the launch. He points to the keyboard’s number format; where the original BlackBerry keyboard placed numbers 0-9 in the traditional dialpad format on the lefthand side, the Clicks Keyboard mirrors the IOS layout and lines them out up top.

Reserve your Clicks’ keyboard now at Clicks Technology’s website. Keep an eye on the App Store also, as a Clicks app with extended functionalities is slated to arrive shortly.
