For Lapstone & Hammer‘s first capsule of 2024, the Philadelphia-based label is diving deep into an indigo-blue hue to present an expansive hand-dyed collection of sneakers and apparel. Continuing on the theme of its “Indigo Stonewash” capsule, Lapstone & Hammer joined hands with ASICS on the footwear front and Los Angeles-based Standard Issue for a complementary suite of apparel including hoodies, tees and sweats – all pieces hand-dyed in Philly.

Lapstone reworks ASICS Gel-NYC and Gel-1130 silhouettes. Coloring each sneaker individually through a special dip dye process, no two pairs are the same.

“Feels good to be back in the lab again dyeing and sampling with indigo,” said Lapstone’s Brian Nadav.

“The intention here was to make these feel like your favorite old pair of stonewashed denim. Lots of care and attention went into getting the proper wash for that perfect fade, while still retaining a range of indigo tones in each pair. I’m really happy with the way these pairs finished up.”

Take a closer look at both pairs of sneakers – the Gel NYC followed by the Gel 1130 – in the gallery below.

As for the apparel, Standard Issue whipped up the first of three installments of the “Standard Issue for Lapstone” project for Indigo 2024. Apparel lands in two alluring colorways – Deep Indigo and Stonewashed Indigo – with a kimono-inspired cardigan leading the range.

Expect the full range to land for retail on Saturday, February 3 at 10 a.m. EST – available at Lapstone & Hammer’s webstore and brick-and-mortar outpost at 1106 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia.
