Kali Uchis Embraces Her Latin Roots With 'ORQUÍDEAS'
Serving as the artist’s second album in Spanish.
R&B songstress Kali Uchis is carrying over her momentum from 2023’s Red Moon in Venus — a project that landed in Hypebeast’s top 10 releases for the year — and its accompanying tour by releasing her fourth studio album, ORQUÍDEAS. Leading up to the release, various singles released were followed up by Uchis finally revealing her long-rumored pregnancy with Don Toliver, who did not make an appearance on her latest body of work this time around.
ORQUÍDEAS serves as Uchis’ second Spanish album and acts as a follow-up to 2020’s Sin miedo (del amor y otros demonios) ∞. Again, she has served up contemporary ballads that fuse atmospheric production with romantic vocals. Lead singles “Muñekita” and “Labios Mordidos” feature El Alfa & JT and Karol G respectively while rising Mexican star Peso Pluma makes an appearance on “Igual Que Un Ángel” and Rauw Alejandro stars on “No Hay Ley Parte 2” — a collaboration that was initially confirmed at Coachella last year. Additional highlights on the project include the vulnerable “Pensamientos Intrusivos” and the rhythmic “Dame Beso // Muévete.”
Stream Kali Uchis’ ORQUÍDEAS below via Spotify and Apple Music and stay tuned for more updates from the artist as she takes on another exciting year of music.
