Balenciaga Takes to the Pitch With New Soccer Series

Whether it be a full-season offering or a smaller selection, Balenciaga is keen on tapping into a range of worldly inspirations to fuel its designs. Now the Demna-led, Paris-based brand is taking to the pitch with its new Soccer Series.
Inspired by the international sport, the new offering sees the range of signature attire pieces get Balenciaga-fied. Specifically, a lineup of short and long-sleeved jerseys, tracksuits, poplin jackets, zip-up hoodies and sweatpants fill the focal wearables. The pieces are livened by shades of red, pink, neon yellow, black and white alongside off-duty uniform-inspired logos and the Balenciaga name.
Additionally, a selection of pieces have substituted player’s names for neighborhoods or cities including Aoyama, Barcelona, Beverly Hills, Dubai, Ipanema, Mayfair, Miami, Milan, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, Soho and Tokyo. In the same vain, the number 10 pops up select items as a nod to the house’s 10 Avenue George V address in Paris, France. Finishing off the collection are accessories like wool scarves, caps and socks.
