Apple's Vision Pro Headset Launches in the US on February 2
The $3.5k USD gadget is billed as the world’s first “spatial computer.”

Apple’s Vision Pro headset will finally be available for purchase in the US. The company has announced that its first-ever “spatial computer” will be hitting US Apple Stores and the US website on February 2 for $3,500 USD.
“The era of spatial computing has arrived,” CEO Tim Cook said. “Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore.”
The Vision Pro made its debut at the 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference last June. Operating on the new visionOS, the goggle-like headset offers an immersive interface, controlled entirely by a user’s hands, eyes and voice.
Since first previewing the device, Apple has been working with in-house app developers and independent developers to bring some of the App Store’s apps over to the Vision Pro. In its announcement, Apple says that the Vision Pro will offer more than 1 million compatible apps across iOS and iPadOS.
The Vision Pro also features Apple’s M2 chip, as well as the new R1 chip. The device has 256GB of storage, spatial audio and micro-OLED technology to pack 23 million pixels into two displays.
Pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro begin online on Friday, January 19, at 5 a.m. PST/8 a.m. EST. Check out Hypebeat’s hands-on experience with the device at WWDC 2023.
