PROLETA RE ART Collaborates With Levi's and Crocs for Special Shoe and Bag Combo Using Dead Stock Denim
Fusing all three brands’ DNA.
Following its project to create a one-of-one Air Jordan 1 with boro cloth wit Foxtrot Uniform, PROLETA RE ART continues to break the boundaries of shoe design, by finding the beauty in imperfections.
PROT, the artist behind Japanese label PROLETA RE ART has long been known for using various left over fabrics from unique tapestry and textures to add layers to traditional items. This time around, the artist collaborates with Levi’s and Crocs to create a special collection shoes and shoe bags using dead stock denim fabrics found at the Levi’s office over the years.
Adding a vintage denim aesthetic to the clog style, this special project utilizes White Oak dead stock denim from Levi’s as well as the UROBOROS panel handmade by PROLETA RE ART. The pieces are assembled onto the Crocs and are placed one-by-one by PROT. Only 60 pairs have been made for promotional purposes only. The shoes reuse the fabrics and take core motifs from each of the three brands’ DNA. While the pieces are wearable, the artistry of the PROLETA RE ART drives the underlying intent for the project.
