OMEGA Unveils the Race-Ready Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black ETNZ Edition
A logo-inspired tribute for the America’s Cup defending champions.
As the official timekeeper for the 37th America’s Cup that’s due to take place in Barcelona next year, OMEGA has prepared the Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black ETNZ Edition, a special timepiece and a unique collectible dedicated to the historical sporting competition. As for its design, the piece borrows aesthetic influences from the defending champion, Emirates Team New Zealand.
Doused in a deep black and turquoise color scheme, the reference arrives in a 45.5mm ceramic case and is fitted with a unidirectional bezel in a brushed finish. The bezel is highlighted with a white enamel diving scale, accentuated with a triangle-framed dot on the 12 o’clock mark. The matte-black dial is illuminated with turquoise-hued features, such as the subdial ring, minute track, and the central second’s chronograph hand. The counterweight also nods to the competition as it arrives in the silhouette of the America’s Cup trophy.
Turning over the timepiece, the caseback features a sporty build that corresponds to the rest of the watch case. At the center of it, the Emirates Team New Zealand is emblazoned across the middle in its signature color palette. Implemented inside the watch is the Master Chronometer Caliber 9900, an in-house movement that powers the piece for all its timekeeping functions.
Accompanying the watch is a structured rubber strap that echoes its overall color pattern. On top of that, an additional rubber strap as well as two NATO straps are also offered in complementary colorways.
Priced at $13,300 USD, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black ETNZ Edition is available for inquiry via OMEGA’s official website.
