Arnold & Son Unveil Latest Limited-Edition: The Luna Magna Red Gold Meteorite
With only 38 examples to be produced.
The Luna Magna Red Gold Meteorite is the latest limited-edition to be released from Arnold & Son, with its design inspired by the astronomical wonders of the sky, fire, and stars — set to be produced to a limited quantity of 38 examples.
This timepiece features a three-dimensional moon-phase complication, a 44mm red gold case and a blue PVD-treated meteorite dial, giving it a terrestrial feel. The dial of the watch is meticulously crafted with a spacious display made from a large disc of ferrous meteorite, colored blue using the PVD process and a subdial for hours and minutes with an almost lunar sheen thanks to its opal surface.
The intricate details of the meteorite’s Widmanstätten patterns and the moon made from Cacholong opal and blue PVD meteorite make the Luna Magna Red Gold Meteorite a truly expressive timepiece. Textures found throughout catch the light and shift with the rotation of the moon, controlled by a complication exclusive to Arnold & Son. The opal half of the moon and the subdial are coated with Super-LumiNova, revealing a blue-green glow that is invisible by day and illuminates at night.
Technical details of the Luna Magna Red Gold Meteorite include power derived from the A&S1021 calibre — developed, machined, assembled, and adjusted by the Arnold & Son Manufacture. This hand-wound movement, designed with the lunar globe in mind, features a 90-hour power reserve and a regulating organ oscillating at 3 Hz. Additionally, the movement includes a secondary display detailing the age of the moon on the case-back side, with clearly readable markings for high-precision lunar adjustments.
Arnold & Son has meticulously replicated the duration of a complete lunar cycle, so precise that it will take 122 years for the movement’s display to deviate from the correct celestial reading by one day, which is impressive, to say the least.
The Arnold & Son Luna Magna Red Gold Meteorite is available now via inquiry only through its official site or select authorized retailers.
