'Red Dead Redemption' Is Coming To the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch
For the first time since the game’s original release in 2010.
Rockstar Games is re-releasing Red Dead Redemption for modern consoles for the first time.
The conversion, made by Double Eleven Studios, will feature the original 2010 game and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare, in a single package. Red Dead Redemption will be released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility, and will support new languages such as Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish.
The story of Red Dead Redemption takes place after its predecessor Red Dead Redemption 2, and follows ex-outlaw John Marston as he tracks down his former friends and the last members of the Van der Linde Gang — of which he was once a part of and is the main focus of Red Dead Redemption 2. Meanwhile, Undead Nightmare is a zombie expansion that sees Marston fighting a zombie outbreak in an attempt to find a cure.
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be available via the Nintendo Switch eShop and PlayStation Store for $49.99 USD, with the physical release hitting stores on October 13.
Elsewhere in gaming, Modern Warfare III has received a release date.
