Back in April, Kevin Durant was gearing up to take on the Los Angeles Clippers for the Phoenix Suns’ first playoff series of the 2022-23 NBA season when he revealed the next chapter in his signature series with Nike Basketball — the Nike KD 16. Three colorways were spotlighted with the “Deep Royal” look as one of the initial pairs. Since then, various previews of colorways, including a new “Aunt Pearl” iteration, have appeared alongside a slew of KD 3 retros.

Now, a detailed breakdown of the “Deep Royal” colorway has been prepared ahead of its forthcoming release. The pair leverages various blue hues across its build with “Vivid Purple” chiming in at the upper and the Swooshes located at each side of the heel. On top of this, silver 3M piping runs across the upper, offering reflectivity under certain lighting conditions. White appears at the midsole’s heel while co-branding is scattered throughout the sneaker, including at the tongue, sockliner and the heel with its “EASY” stamp.

While Nike has yet to officially announced the KD 16 and its launch period, this “Deep Royal” colorway should be landing on shelves in the coming months via the Swoosh and select retailers at a price of $160 USD.

Stay tuned for updates and for more of the latest news from the footwear space, Patta has once again teamed up with Nike, this time celebrating FC Barcelona on the Air Max Plus.
