Gogoro, a pioneer in battery-swapping urban mobility systems, has teamed up with Tokyo-based minimalist lifestyle brand MUJI and celebrated Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa to introduce the Gogoro VIVA ME and Gogoro VIVA MIX ME e-scooters.

The minimalistic scooters are set to be accompanied by a range of merchandise and are characterized by their sustainable design, as they make use of recycled polypropylene body panels.

Aligned with MUJI’s timeless design traits, the scooters feature earthy color schemes inspired by nature and urban landscapes, with a focus on the “Just Enough” philosophy that prioritizes simplicity and sustainability. Fukasawa noted the collaboration’s significance, emphasizing that the partnership amplifies the shared values of both brands, saying, “It’s not just one plus one equals two. Instead, let one plus one see a greater value.”

These latest examples from Gogoro mark the fourth year that the brand has integrated recyclable polypropylene plastics, which started with its Gogoro 2 Smarscooter and later was used in its Viva range. The release of these two collaborative models follows Gogoro and MUJI’s “Recycling for Good” initiative and aligns with this year’s World Environment Day, which aims to “beat plastic pollution,” in Taiwan and around the world.

See an extended look at the creative process behind the Gogoro x MUJI e-scooter in the video below. To see order availability for the VIVA ME and VIVA MIX ME e-scooters or to shop the full accompanying collection, visit the official collaboration page.
