MARKET x Retrospekt Team Up for ’80s and ’90s-Inspired Polaroid 600 Camera
Built using secondhand vintage parts.
MARKET and Retrospekt have joined forces to create a Polaroid camera inspired by the ‘80s and ‘90s. With the camera, the brands wanted to create a design that provoked a sense of joyful nostalgia.
Retrospekt recreates devices using second-hand vintage parts, meaning its releases typically arrive in a limited run and no two are exactly alike. For this collaboration, two different colorways of the Polaroid 600 camera were created, one with a white body and orange accents and the other with a teal body and purple accents. The camera features a label with both the Polaroid and MARKET logos. The MARKET logo appears on a second, additional badge on the body, this time in the abbreviated “MKT.”
At the bottom of the camera, right above where the developed film shoots out is a kind message, reading, “Thank you, have a nice day!”
While the camera itself contains a strap to hold it, MARKET and Retrospekt have also designed a vintage carrying case with blue and black paneling and the Polaroid brand name.
The MARKET x Retrospekt Polaroid 600 collaboration will be available starting on Friday, August 25 on MARKET’s website.
