JUNTAE KIM FW23 Has Arrived

This past January, Seoul-based label JUNTAE KIM revealed its Fall/Winter 2023, which is inspired by the 1989 American drama film, Dead Poets Society. Now as summer begins to wind down and the cooler seasons approach, the brand’s FW23 has now arrived.

Entitled, “Romantic Poetry: The New Preppy,” the collection continues to evolve JUNTAE KIM’s gender-fluid personality through a fusion of varied styles  – what it called “unraveling binary constructions.” With the film, the collection analyzes the similarities and differences between men’s and women’s costume design to birth something entirely new. With those details in mind, the collection features hybridized down, denim and faux-leather jackets, subverted knitwear, remixed denim and matching trousers.

Outerwear standouts include the slate gray Double Flight Down Jacket and acid-wash Embossed Denim Jacket. Embedded with various details, the jackets include puffer components, accordion sleeves, zippered pouches and more. But what also stands out about the jacket whether it be a down, faux leather or denim, is that it also has matching pants. Another highlight is the corset sweater in cream or blue, which perfectly illustrates the collection’s fused design sentiments.
