First Look at Jeep's Last EcoDiesel Gladiator

Jeep has announced its final EcoDiesel Gladiator Rubicon in the form of a special edition it’s calling the “FarOut.” This release follows the success of the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel, which was introduced in 2021 and touted as a trailblazer in the midsize pickup truck segment, boasting a best-in-class 442 lb-ft of torque and over 500 miles of driving range.

The special edition, limited to a production of 1,000 units marks Jeep’s transition towards electrification and the end of an era for the Gladiator.

“As the Jeep brand continues its drive to electrification, we are phasing out EcoDiesel technology with the final, limited-edition Gladiator Rubicon FarOut,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America.

Technical features and details of the Gladiator FarOut include a powerful 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, the TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission, front and rear third-gen Dana 44 heavy-duty axles, a 3.73 axle ratio and a Rock-Trac two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio.

Aesthetically, the vehicle showcases a “Diesel 3.0L” hood graphic, black fender decals, 17-inch low-gloss black polished aluminum wheels, 33-inch mud-terrain tires, a steel front bumper and more.

Retail for the new EcoDiesel Gladiator Rubicon FarOut edition starts at $69,995, with interested buyers able to place their orders starting at the end of September via Jeep’s official site.
