Jeep is reviving the heritage Laredo nameplate for a limited 2027 Wrangler special edition as part of its Twelve 4 Twelve Wrangler Series.

The model features a cowboy-themed aesthetic with retro graphics, a tan soft top, Bison Brown Nappa leather and bronze accents.

Available for order later this month, the package adds $1,995 to the price of a Wrangler Willys equipped with the Xtreme 35 package.

Jeep has revealed the 2027 Wrangler Laredo, a heritage-inspired special edition that resurrects a trim name not seen on the flagship off-roader since the early 1990s. The release marks the ninth installment in the brand’s yearlong Twelve 4 Twelve Wrangler Series, a monthly campaign celebrating the 85th anniversary of the automaker. Inspired by the frontier spirit of a Texas border town along the Rio Grande, the design embraces southwestern styling cues. The Laredo originally appeared in the early 1980s as a premium option on the CJ-5 before carrying over to the first-generation Wrangler. Its return provides enthusiasts with a tangible connection to the rugged roots of the manufacturer.

Built on the Wrangler Willys platform, the new vehicle comes standard with the Xtreme 35 package to ensure trail-rated capability. The factory upgrade provides a suspension lift and equips the 4×4 with 17-inch bronze beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires. Under the hood sits a 285-hp 3.6-liter V-6 engine paired with performance brakes and a higher rear axle ratio. On the outside, the design team applied large retro hood graphics, a sand-colored grille and a signature tan soft top to emphasize the desert aesthetic. Buyers will also spot subtle bronze tow hooks alongside lasso-style rear lettering spelling out the four-wheel-drive designation.

Inside the cabin, Jeep incorporated upscale materials mixed with playful western motifs. The upgraded Bison Brown Nappa leather seats feature Mayan Gold contrast stitching. Global Black trim wraps the instrument panel and center console to create a striking two-tone environment. Designers even integrated tiny cowboy hats onto the air vent covers and placed a custom plaque on the rear swing gate displaying a map of the Texas namesake town. The production model remains remarkably close to the design language first seen in a recent Easter Jeep Safari concept, proving the initial concept resonated strongly with the fan base.

Prospective buyers can choose between two-door and four-door configurations. While the signature tan soft top remains the centerpiece, hardtop variations and an available Sky One-touch Powertop round out the options. The Laredo trim adds an accessible premium of $1,995 over the standard Willys Xtreme 35 setup, bringing the starting cost to approximately $48,000. Dealerships will open official order banks later this month.
