Just a week ahead of its intended premiere date of August 10, the new season of Issa Rae‘s Rap Sh!t has been postponed due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The show’s second season will now premiere on Max on November 9 (with two episodes), followed by a weekly release schedule until the December 21 finale.

The show, created by Rae, is set in Miami and follows two estranged high school friends Mia Knight, played by KaMillion, and Shawna Clark, played by Aida Osman, who reunite to form a rap group. The eight-episode Season 1 of Rap Sh!t was released on HBO Max on July 21, 2022 and wrapped on September 1. The second season is also expected to take an eight-episode format. Jonica Booth, RJ Cyler, Daniel Augustin and Jaboukie Young-White also star in the series.

Rae shared the following teaser on her Instagram confirming the November 9 release date.
