SMITH Launches New Vert PivLock Sunglasses
Designed for running and loaded with technical features — but just as comfortable for casual wear.

Mirrored sunglasses with enormous lenses are one of the most popular accessories of summer 2023. Whether worn in an entirely serious fashion for athletic pursuits or a more tongue-in-cheek, Kenny Powers-adjacent style to make a sartorial statement, they’re hard to escape and SMITH has thrown its hat in the ring with a new model dubbed the Vert PivLock.
Designed with elite runners in mind (but equally at home on city streets) the Vert PivLock features an interchangeable lens system that lets the wearer swap their lenses to adjust to varying light conditions. Six colorways have been produced, and each comes with both a glare-cutting mirrored lens that SMITH calls ChromaPop as well as a secondary clear lens. Swapping the rimless lenses is as easy as a click and a pop, and each features laser-cut venting for airflow as well as smudge and moisture-resistant coating. The stems are made from a special TR90 nylon blend, while adjustable nose and temple pads ensure they’ll stay in place.
If you’re looking to add a pair of Vert PivLocks to your summer sunglasses lineup, they’re available via the SMITH webstore now and are priced at either $209 USD or $219 USD depending on your lens color choice.
Elsewhere in the world of elevated optics, Chrome Hearts has released a new frame dubbed the LORD’N that’s equipped with .925 sterling silver.
