Prada Extends transformed Bangkok into a celebration of music and community with Richie Hawtin
The fashion house’s global music event series brought together Bangkok’s finest under one roof for an unmitigated day and night of creative exploration.
Unleashing the omnipotent force of music, Prada and Richie Hawtin continue their boundary-defying journey across the globe with a series of dance extravaganzas, merging electrifying sounds and vibrant scenes. The whirlwind tour initiated in London, ventured through Tokyo and Miami, and found its latest haven in the pulsating heart of Bangkok—a melting pot of timeless rhythms.
On the 29th of June, Prada’s ICONSIAM store underwent a metamorphosis, hosting a dynamic conversation featuring Hawtin and Mixmag Asia’s director, Arun Ramanathan, exploring the power of music in today’s world. The duo delved into the project’s mission to redefine music’s significance across diverse cultures. Later, Bangkok’s very own DJ Elaheh, carefully curated by Hawtin, offered a tantalizing glimpse of the night’s impending festivities. The Warehouse Stadium witnessed an awe-inspiring synthesis of visual and auditory spectacles.
BongBongQuayQuay—a Vietnamese DJ and model—alongside Elaheh and Sarayu, members of Bangkok’s eclectic UNST artist collective, delivered infectious beats. Meanwhile, Thai visual maestros Yellowtrash and Footprints on Mars, who’ve previously collaborated with Hawtin’s long-time partner, Ali Demirel, crafted mesmerizing visuals.
Prada Extends Bangkok captures the essence of creative communities inspiring one another, demonstrating how Prada fosters connections and bridges cultural divides in novel ways. Through the unifying power of music, conversation, and collaboration, Prada Extends persistently proves that the world’s inventive minds can converge and spawn trailblazing ideas that defy limitations.
