De Bethune Prepares the Dream Watch 5 in Damascus Iron and Steel for Only Watch 2023
Sourced from Auberson iron ores near the Maison’s manufacture.
De Bethune has unveiled the DW5 SP as its participating timepiece for the upcoming Only Watch auction.
This one-off iteration of De Bethune’s iconic Dream Watch 5 model is forged from Damascus iron and steel. Boasting an unusual pattern and finishing, the materials are sourced from Auberson iron ores near the Maison’s manufacture. Outfitted with a polished blue meteorite, where the telling of time is visible via a tiny display near the crown that’s set with a cabochon blue sapphire.
Through the small circular window in the caseback, the in-house DB2149 caliber can be observed. The tourbillon movement offers a 4-day power reserve and is ensured by a self-regulating double barrel. Accompanying this unique time-teller are soft, alligator leather straps, fastened in place with a titanium pin buckle.
