Zara Home Enlists Vincent Van Duysen for Second Collection

With a focus on the dining room.

After their first partnership launched last year, Zara Home has again joined forces with Belgian designer and architect Vincent Van Duysen to create a collection of furniture, homewares and textiles.

Given that much of the collection focuses on the dining room, for Van Duysen, the concept of togetherness has been overarching. As with the first drop, the collection takes inspiration from the designs in Van Duysen’s archives and, as such, embodies his typically pared-back aesthetic by prioritising intentionally simple forms and materials.

“This is a collection inspired by convivial moments around a dining table, in the company of your loved ones,” explains Van Duysen. “It feels like a home coming – the dimensions, sensorial aspects, the look and feel all reflect my work,” he continues.

Across the collection, objects are designed to be timeless as an antidote to the throwaway culture. The material palette favours tactility – and encompasses solid oak and ash, leather, linen, jute, and limestone. Larger furniture pieces include dining tables, a sideboard, a cabinet, armchairs, a love seat, sofas, side tables, a console/desk, dining chairs, and stools. Textiles and decorative objects include carpets, table lamps, glassware, tableware, candles, and home fragrance.

The Zara Home+ Collection by Vincent Van Duysen is available from zarahome.com from June 2 and in selected stores.

In other design news, artist James Turrell has crafted a limited-edition decanter with The Glenturret and Lalique.
