Exploring the Seoul-based design studio’s latest furniture and object creations.
Founded by Oh Hyunseog, niceworkshop. has made a name for itself in the world of design. The Seoul-based design studio notably explores the physical properties of materials, presenting experimental works of novel themes and forms.
niceworkshop. has established three key concept lines that serve to build on its own design language. The “HAHOUSE” series serves to induce human behavior and psychology with the intent of encouraging visitors to actively interact, rather than passively experience. Similarly, “AFFORDANCE” also aims to induce human behavior and psychology, highlighting the intrinsic and external properties of a specific object triggering uses, actions, and functions from users to form a specific relationship.
Standing as niceworkshop.’s most well-known series, the “BOLT” line started with transforming the full threaded bolt. Repurposing the industrial material into a sculptural material through a combination with nuts becomes a process of creating balanced structures and aesthetics.
Taking to Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024, niceworkshop. will be holding a showroom at 40Dr, a temporary space run by Marin Marnieux. Taking over the studio, niceworkshop. will be releasing an exclusive new series of furniture and object creations.
