Inside Ayrae’s First Shanghai Store
At 78 Yanqing Road, red unfolds across mirrored surfaces.
Ayrae’s first Shanghai store has officially opened at 78 Yanqing Road in Xuhui District.
Over the past year, Ayrae has moved from The Moment, its debut season’s study of the “moments” that move us, to EQUILIBRIUM for Fall/Winter 2026, an exploration of the balance between order and instinct. With the opening of its first Shanghai store, this thread—from “moments” to “balance”—now enters a physical space.
Bold, almost piercing red has long run through Ayrae’s visual language. Inside the store, it is amplified against a gray foundation and metallic lines. Mirrors sweep across the walls, repeatedly reflecting color, clothing, and visitors’ silhouettes. Reality and reflection overlap, softening the boundaries of the space. Mirrored display tables and built-in speakers introduce a note of electronic music, lending the space an almost live atmosphere.
Ayrae’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, “The Power of Balance: EQUILIBRIUM,” is also presented in the store. The season places close-fitting silhouettes and soft curves alongside the tougher edge of streetwear and workwear; vivid color cuts through a cool, hard-edged palette, while silk and tactile, woolly details appear throughout. These seemingly contradictory sensibilities coexist within a single clothing language, allowing “balance” to extend beyond dress and into everyday life: different, even opposing impulses can exist at once.
Beyond the clothes, Ayrae’s narrative will continue to unfold here. What was once conveyed through clothing, imagery, and text can now be experienced firsthand in the space. Looking ahead, Ayrae hopes to make this connection with others more tangible and immediate through more forms of sharing and in-person programming.
