Take an Exclusive First Look at Georges Wendell's Golf Collection
Shared with you before the designer debuts this and more during its Spring/Summer 2024 runway show later today.
In 1999, the French golfer Jean Van de Velde came out of nowhere to challenge for the Open Championship, one of the most coveted prizes in golf. That same year, the Creative Director of Georges Wendell, Pierre Kaczmarek, was born. It is here where the designer draws his influence for his upcoming Spring/Summer 2024 collection of reworked adidas Golf items, which is due to debut later today during the Georges Wendell SS24 runway show at Paris Fashion Week.
For the collection, Kaczmarek introduces Georges Wendell’s signature “W Cut” design motif into classic sporting attire. The result is incredibly chic and nonconformist, updating the likes of white golf skirts and polo shirts to bring them into new, highly fashionable realms.
The range still functions on the putting green by all means, but it feels at home in Paris. The ensemble comprises a polo shirt that’s made from lace but still sports all of the necessary polo properties, while a men’s polo is finished with W cuts on the hem. Pants are formal and sporty, combining pinstripes with nylon paneling, and skirts are pleated as expected but come with a hidden Georges Wendell branded pattern decking the interior of each pleat, only visible once spread out.
Together, there are 40 pieces that can be worked into 15 complete and unique looks, and to make the collection that bit more special, each piece is signed with the signature of Georges Wendell.
