UPDATE: After months of rumors and early previews, we’re just weeks away from the release of the J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Medellín Sunset.” In June, the Colombian artist linked with Hypebeast to offer an early preview of the shoe while last month he was spotted in the rumored “Rio” colorway. Now, a complete breakdown of the “Medellín Sunset” pair has been shared ahead of the shoe’s launch date of September 23 via Nike SNKRS at a price of $250 USD. For more info, review our previous coverage below.

UPDATE: J Balvin popped out to South Beach this past weekend to take in the Formula 1 action and was spotted rocking his forthcoming Air Jordan 3 collaboration. The Colombian artist confirmed that his fresh kicks are inspired by sunsets in his hometown of Medellín, Colombia, and this is referenced via the purple, orange and yellow gradience that adorns the heel tabs and the midsole molds. Branding on the rear splits between a Nike logo on the left side and Balvin’s signature smiley face on the right. Stay tuned for official launch information.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:

Back in 2020, the world got its first taste of how J Balvin’s energy combined with Jordan Brand’s DNA could result in a pair of vibrant kicks. First working on the Air Jordan 1, the duo went on to launch a collaborative version of the Air Jordan 2 last year. Now, the Colombian artist is continuing the sequence by reworking the Air Jordan 3.

According to reputable sneaker leakers zSneakerHeadz and Brandon1an, the third installation of J Balvin x Jordan Brand will feature the Air Jordan 3 in a complete size range. In addition to this, complementary apparel options ranging from leather vests to woven jackets are expected. Circling back to the shoe, its color coordination is officially listed as “Multi-Color/Multi-Color/Multi-Color,” meaning you can expect something wild from them once again.

While we’ve yet to see the kicks, the J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 is currently expected to launch on September 2 via Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers. Stay tuned for official details and an early preview of the pair as we approach its release.
