Havaianas Slides Into Second Collaboration with mastermind WORLD
Imposing the Japanese brand’s signature skull onto a new summer-ready footwear pack.
In its second collaborative drop with mastermind WORLD, Havaianas continues to merge the worlds of Brazilian beach footwear with the Japanese label’s distinctively dark aesthetics to create the new Urban Slide.
While the debut partnership saw an understated take on the traditional Zori sandal, the duo’s new slide takes a bolder approach to its design. On the sandal upper, mastermind WORLD integrates its classic skull and crossbones using a sculptural high-relief method. Framing the insignia, the laterals are stamped with the brands’ logos in white that stand out from the black and striking orange colorways.
“This second drop combines comfort and style, and it is the first collaboration in which we feature the slide shape,” says Havaianas Global Marketing VP Maria Fernanda Albuquerque. She adds, “Our first drop in 2020 was very special and we are certain that this one will be too, once again.”
