Manchester United Legend Eric Cantona Announces Debut Music Tour
In one of the most unexpected side-quests of recent times, the ‘Cantona Sings Eric On Stage’ tour will commence in October.
Legendary Manchester United forward Eric Cantona is launching a musical career by embarking on both a UK and European tour, marking one of the most unexpected side-quests to come out of the football industry in recent times.
The Frenchman retired from football back in 1997 and has dipped his toes into various industries since — such as working as an actor, promoting a vast array of companies on advertisement commercials, and standing in as the Director of Soccer with American outfit, New York Cosmos.
Now, Cantona is moving in a different direction having just launched his musical career. An announcement came last week confirming that the former Manchester United and France forward would be making a live singing debut across the UK and Ireland.
He is set to perform three live shows in Manchester, London, and Dublin in October before heading across Europe. The tour is called Cantona Sings Eric On Stage and it will also come with his debut solo single on June 2.
Speaking about his upcoming tour, Cantona said: “Next year, I’ll be playing with a band, but for now, I’m starting with a modest piano to play alongside me in intimate venues. I’ll be starting in Manchester because it’s a city that has stayed with me so much for the football, of course, but also the general atmosphere.”
Presale for Cantona’s tour is open now and a wider release of tickets will be available to buy via the official Live Nation website from June 2.
