Pharrell's JOOPITER Announces 'Just Phriends' Auction With Colette Founder Sarah Andelman
Featuring unique lots with pieces from Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Futura, Louis Vuitton and more.
Pharrell‘s digital-first auction house JOOPITER has officially announced its next partnership. This time, Pharrell joins forces with long-time industry friend Sarah Andelman, best known as the founder behind the legendary Parisian concept store colette and owner of consulting and curating company Just an Idea.
Curated in partnership with Andelman, the upcoming auction is entitled Just Phriends and features over 50 unique lots that consist of rare artworks, culturally-provenant objects and exclusive interdisciplinary collaborations that are both unseen or created specifically for this auction. Amongst the works are from big name artists including Pharrell himself as well as works from with the likes of Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Daniel Arsham, Futura, JR, Paola Pivi, Invader, Xavier Veilhan, MSCHF, Chanel, Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Richard Mille and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Special note of “The Simple Things” (2009) by Takashi Murakami and Pharrell Williams will be a part of the auction and on display for the first time in Paris.
With colette, Andelman’s store became one of Paris’ premiere fashion stops, bringing high fashion and edgy streetwear together. She often showcased up-and-coming designers and regularly teamed up with luxury brands to create limited-edition ranges and collaborations for the colette store. Creating a cult-like following around her concept store, Andelman’s eye for the next trend is superior to most. In regards to the Just Phriends auction, Andelman said, “I’m very honored by Pharrell’s invitation to write a new chapter on JOOPITER’s platform. We have known each other for such a long time now, we have so many great souvenirs of collaborations at colette. For this unique auction, I immediately thought of bringing together the artists and designers who have a history of working with Pharrell, but also a new generation of talents I love and find relevant in today’s culture, that’s why it’s called Just Phriends.”
Those interested will be able to bid for the lots of the Just Phriends series on Joopiter between June 19 to 27. The lots will be on display during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
